He was an acknowledged character who nevertheless made exemplary white-lightning corn-liquor. From all reports (I've drunk moonshine, but never Popcorn's stuff), his product had absolutely nothing in common with the water-clear, gullet-searing industrial ethanol commonly thought-of when corn-whiskey is discussed. His whiskey was a warm dark-amber and smooth as silk -- to quote someone more experienced than I: "Popcorn was an artist."

I agree that it is strange that we place such emphasis and LE resources on this silly enforcement effort, especially when the entire Muslim world is trying to kill us. But then, I'm a small-L libertarian -- so that makes me crazy.
